get back on the move without pain limiting your daily activities. You will be able to walk, climb stairs and enjoy life again without discomfort.
the customised approach allows for more targeted interventions, minimising trauma to the tissues and accelerating recovery.
modern knee prostheses offer long-term stability and functionality, reducing the need for corrective surgery in the future.
Many people suffer from knee pain that significantly limits their quality of life.
The most common problems that may require knee replacement surgery are:
This causes wear and tear of the articular cartilage, leading to chronic pain, stiffness and reduced mobility. This may make everyday activities such as walking, climbing stairs or sitting down difficult.
This causes chronic joint inflammation, damaging the cartilage and bone of the knee. This results in severe pain, stiffness and joint deformity.
Severe injuries such as meniscus or anterior cruciate ligament ruptures can cause instability and chronic knee pain.
Conditions such as valgus (X-knees) or varus (bowed knees) can cause pain and functional limitations that may benefit from surgical correction
Traditional surgical techniques to resolve these problems can be invasive and involve a lengthy period of recovery. Finding less invasive solutions that can offer a quicker recovery process and fewer complications is therefore essential.
Knee surgery cannot be standardised for every patient. The specific needs of the person must be considered, from their joint structure to their way of life. That is why I carefully analyse each case, applying the most suitable surgical technique each time to ensure the best result. The methods I use include:
• Robotic surgery: robotic systems make it possible to plan the surgery precisely and position the prostheses accurately. This approach reduces trauma to the tissue, accelerates healing and improves long-term results.
• Resurfacing: this procedure preserves most of the bone, replacing only the damaged joint surface. This is ideal for young or active patients because it preserves the natural structure of the knee and promotes a faster recovery period.
• Kinematic realignment: promotes knee alignment, while respecting the patient's anatomy. By positioning the prosthetic components according to the natural motion of the knee, a smoother feeling and better function are achieved after surgery.
•Mechanical realignment: allows prosthetic components to be aligned in relation to the axis of the limb. This helps to distribute forces evenly, ensuring stability and reducing wear and tear of the prosthesis over time.
In cases of knee ligament injuries, especially in young people or athletes, the main objective is to preserve the natural structure of the joint as much as possible.
For this reason, one effective technique I use is acute cruciate ligament suturing, a minimally invasive approach that allows damaged structures to be repaired without having to be replaced.
Particularly suitable for recent injuries, it provides for more natural movement and faster recovery than traditional techniques.
For cases where suturing is not applicable, ligament reconstruction is an established solution for restoring stability and function to the knee. Using grafts to replace the damaged ligament, this technique is effective in patients with chronic injuries or persistent instability.
In any case, my goal is always to choose the most suitable treatment for each patient's needs, ensuring a safe recovery and return to activity without limitations.
We perform a detailed assessment with 3D scans and clinical analyses to choose the most suitable technique for you.
We provide you with pre-operative instructions and a detailed explanation of the procedure. This will help you prepare physically and mentally for the surgery, reducing anxiety and eliminating any doubts.
Regardless of the surgical technique chosen, the objective during surgery is to minimise trauma to the surrounding tissues, ensure correct positioning of the prosthesis, and optimise knee function.
After the surgery, you will be closely monitored to ensure a successful recovery. This phase includes check-ups and physiotherapy, which are useful in speeding up healing time. This ensures a smooth and optimal recovery, allowing you to return to your daily activities as soon as possible.
Thanks to advanced techniques, post-operative pain is reduced when compared to traditional surgery. Anaesthesia ensures comfort during the procedure, and post-operative pain is managed with appropriate medication.
It depends on the technique used and the patient's condition. With modern methods, many patients return to daily activities within a few weeks, while full recovery takes several months, assisted by targeted physiotherapy.
Prostheses fitted using robotic surgery are designed to last for many years. The precision of the procedure reduces the risk of complications and extends the life of the implant, providing a stable and lasting solution for your knee
As with any surgical procedure, there are risks, albeit minimal. Complications may include infection, adverse reactions to injections or non-response to treatment. However, thanks to my minimally invasive approach, these risks are reduced.
Done this too! Shoulder repaired, now a long rehabilitation and off we go. I sincerely thank the
OSS, NURSES, DOCTORS AND THE STAFF OF THE ORTHOPAEDICS OPERATING ROOM AND IN PARTICULAR THE DIRECTOR MICHELE TREVISAN of the Legnago hospital!!! Competent, kind and human people!!! REALLY
On August 2nd I was operated on by the exceptional team of Dr. Michele Trevisan at the orthopedic department of Legnago for a prosthetic hip resurfacing. I have no words for the results.....after two days standing without crutches. After 8 days able to drive a car.... crazy.... Dr. Trevisan is the only surgeon who performs this operation with anterior access, therefore without sectioning muscle groups. My thanks go to him.
My husband has just undergone hip replacement surgery and we were able to see the excellent medical staff, first and foremost Dr. Michele Trevisan and the professionalism, cordiality but above all the passion of the nursing staff and the social health workers!!!
When you encounter such excellence, it is obligatory to make it public: a standing ovation for all these professionals: THANK YOU!
It is easy to talk about Dr. Michele. His skills, his commitment, his innovative means, his dream of bringing the orthopedic department to the forefront are there for all to see. It is the human side of the person that strikes, he remembers the patient after a long time, always with a smile, if you meet him he stops for a word. I am grateful and thankful to Dr. Trevisan. Thanks to his patience and encouragement I faced knee and hip replacement surgery; I returned to walking as always, keeping in mind that I am 78 years old.... I recently attended one of his lectures, at the university for the elderly, he introduced himself as a doctor and not as a head physician.
My gratitude towards him is great: humanity and empathy are his characteristics: he cares about the person before the patient.
